This toast is a keeper
More grain, more Melba! This member of the Melba toast-family has the most depth in character. A source of fiber and less salt as well. Our proud Frisian-run family company has been proudly baking toast for four generations. That’s pretty special, if you think about it. And when you take a bite, you will know why our toast is definitely a keeper.
Masterbakers
So where does Melba toast multigrain come from? Our baking masters start by carefully baking bread in our bakery. These loaves of bread are cut into small slices, just the right size to cover them with some cream cheese and sliced cucumber. After this, they are baked until they are crispy and brown in color. Believe us, it won’t get better than this.
Nellie Melba
Nellie Melba (May 19, 1861 - February 23, 1931) was an Australian soprano. In 1886 Nellie and her family left Australia to become known as opera singer in Europe. It worked! She became a musician of world renown. Her name is still associated with two dishes, the dessert pêche Melba and our delicious Melba toast. Both are conceived by the French chef cook Auguste Escoffier. The dessert when he saw Nellie perform and the Melba toast when he fell in love with her.
